These are my new rules, for the next year. My budget-within-my-normal budget is going to be No New Things. If I must shop for anything other than groceries and cleaning supplies, it must be thrifted (including gifts, etc) according to the above rules! I think the diagram includes my normal purchasing thought-process and deals strictly with my acquisitive nature. I should have added: "Do you already have something almost exactly like it?"
