"The English Major" at Wheaton College - old cardigan, floral dress, leather over-the-shoulder-bag, messy side bun, scraps of fabric pinned in her hair, thinking thoughts of Homer and Keats. |
Studying, writing, and cappuccinos at Starbucks with Emma. |
Did I mention cappuccinos? With either a swirl of honey or one packet of raw sugar and a pinch of cinnamon. |
Sniping shots of killer style at the Art Institute in Chicago with Brie or Jessina or Emma - wandering through the modern wing and gazing at Rothkos on a Thursday afternoon. |
Weekends at Missy and Bob's eating good food and relaxing in Evanston and Andersonville - or lolling on the couch with Squeak and Moon. |
Enjoying stick-on Mary Cassatt tattoos from Jessina for my birthday. |
Dying my hair red (twice) and being patient growing it out all year. |
Filling my room with mugs and trinkets and paintings and friends - doing homework on our comfy couch. |
Three road trips (Denver, Kentucky and Cincinnati) with various friends - lots of Nebraska and Indiana highway. |
Continuing expanding my blog and photography, and of course, paring down and then adding to my wardrobe, developing my personal style. |
Bike rides to Lincoln Marsh and Glen Ellyn with Jessina, Emma, Anna, Heather or Austin - lunches and dinners at Honey with the girls. |
Reading, reading, reading reading: Keats, Zagajewski, Hafiz, Wallace Stegner, Hemingway, Faulkner, Zitkala-Sa, Kate Chopin, Mary Oliver, Shakespeare, Foxe, Edith Wharton and many others. |
Many little adventures in between (this particular one with Anna at the marsh last week - her shoe fell into the water the moment after I snapped this).
All in all, pretty good.
