Got pizza from Pizza My Heart in Capitola again after church, and ate it by the beach in the sun with fresh cherries. Rode our bikes up through the trails in the forests behind the Henry Cowell State Redwoods Park, and then down through the Civil War reenactment. Saw Abraham Lincoln hanging out in his tent.
At around 5:30 we found that some good friends and their kids were coming for dessert, so my mother rose graciously to the occasion and made three kinds of cookies, hot fudge, sugared and toasted pecans, sliced berries, and bought vanilla bean ice cream. Just another evening at the Sweers home. The sour cream in the sugar cookies makes them about the best thing a person can bake, too.
