I hitched a ride to Whole Foods yesterday evening and celebrated my birthday belatedly with a little high-end grocery shopping. I tell you, I could spend hours upon hours in that store. I was only going to buy some bread and olives, but then I saw the daffodils, and then I smelled the fresh produce. So here is what I ended up with:
One small sourdough roll, crispy on the outside and thickly chewy on the inside
Seven different olives and one small red vinegar pepper
A little bit of curried garbanzo beans and vegan goulash
One bottle of guava kombucha
A pack of mango mochi ice cream "bubbies"
A yellow mango
Daffodils (3 for $5)
I shared my dinner with some other girls back at the dorm, and delighted in eating healthy, fresh food whilst sitting on the floor and chatting. The daffodils are blooming in a jar on my windowsill and cheering up the landscape of damp bedraggled grass. I should be receiving advertising checks for the coverage grocery stores get on this blog.
Finished the Spirit of Romanticism paper at 4:30 this morning, finally closed my eyes at 5:30 - the quintessential college student yet again.
