I have carefully considered this question in the past week, spent in a warm apartment and 9o degree weather with humidity, and I have come to the conclusion that it really cannot be done. C'est vraiment impossible.

You cannot look good in August heat. No matter how crisp your white shirt, how billowy your thin cotton dress, or how strappy your sandals, an air of stickiness and weariness will prevail.  I am closing my eyes against it all and waiting for September, and crispness, and cardigans.
